Police were called, went to his residence and Young, naked from the waist down, opened the door. He was reportedly “unsteady on his feet” and he “spoke with slurred speech,” according to the report. When police talked to him, he became irritated and told an officer, “I’ll slap you in the face with money, you (expletive) Cuban.”
This isn’t the first time Young has been accused of yelling slurs. In 2012, as a member of the Tigers, he was arrested for aggravated harassment as a hate crime in New York City for making an anti-Semitic remark. His arrest resulted in a suspension by MLB and he was ordered to undergo counseling. He later pleaded guilty to his charge and was sentenced to perform 10 days of community service and attend a program at the Museum of Tolerance.
Young, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 MLB Draft, is a free agent after playing for the Orioles over the past two seasons.
