Pokimane is popular enough on the platform that when things like her Twitch contract running out happens, it’s big news among the community. She has become one of the biggest internet celebrities around thanks to how she streams and the followers she has built up over the years. However, she’s said more than once that her notoriety is a double-edged sword. It turns out that she knew then what she knows now, she’d work to protect her identity a bit more.

Speaking about her online personality and everything that comes with being famous to Anthony Padilla, she expressed her desire to have her real name and face more under the radar. “If I could do it again, I would be faceless.” she said in the interview.

She also explained that because she understands that she can become a bit of a target from some on Twitch, she’s learned a few coping mechanisms. Right at the top of the list of those tricks is that she’s learned to keep her real personality and the one that her fans and followers see separate. She added that the people who watch her streams don’t know her personally, therefore what they say about her can’t be taken personally.

This isn’t the first time she’s talked about wanting to keep her private life and her stream life separated. She’s often talked about the fact that people are always asking if she has a boyfriend and wanting intimate details of that variety. She’s also often said that she feels like it’s extremely weird to discuss those kinds of topics when she’s streaming on Twitch.

It certainly makes quite a bit of sense that a woman who is as popular as she is would have some regrets when it comes to everything that comes with her notoriety. There have been times when some of Pokimane’s fans have gone too far in order to try and get to know her better. She’s talked about more than a few instances of harassment and stalking and has even come under attack from other Twitch streamers who she likely thinks should understand her situation better.
