Captured on Pokimane’s stream yesterday, a desperate fan sent a donation to the streamer with a message attached requesting a refund for money they’d sent to her a few days prior. The interaction clearly flusters Pokimane, who’s unsure if the person asking for a refund for their donations is playing a strange joke or is genuinely looking to have their money returned. As the streamer appears to be unwinding on her broadcast, the message plays, claiming that the sender gave $6 to Pokimane in a previous stream that they want refunding. Supposedly, the restaurant that the donator was working at was shut down, meaning that their source of income has sadly been cut off. Pokimane is quick to query the claim by asking whether the donator is joking, as the only way to send a donation message to a streamer is by offering more money. As Pokimane puts it, “why would you give me more money to ask me to give you your money back?” Either the donator was incredibly desperate to have their message viewed by Pokimane, or it was a strangely off-kilter joke that didn’t land as intended.

Pokimane suggests that if the request is legitimate, the donator needs to request a refund through Paypal, as finding that specific donation from a few days ago will be far too difficult for the streamer. It’s a very gracious reply from the internet personality that clearly shows that, if real, she has a lot of sympathy for the donator involved. Seeing as a number of other streamers have often been very aggressive when asked for refunds by viewers, Pokimane’s restraint is definitely refreshing.

Alongside Pokimane, a number of Twitch’s biggest stars are currently ascending to new heights when it comes to streaming personalities and the media. Not only did Pokimane recently announce her massive exclusivity deal to stay with Twitch (as well as revealing she was offered a lot of money to stream elsewhere), but Dr DisRespect, another major streaming star, recently popped up on WWE TV and is releasing his own TV series with the creators of The Walking Dead.
