Pokimane has officially revealed a date for her long-awaited return. Pokimane’s streams will resume at the start of the month with her first stream back scheduled for Thursday, September 1st with a 12 PM PDT start time. Pokimane’s announcement of her return was met with fevered excitement from both fans of the streamer and fellow content creators. Popular streamers like Hasan, QTCinderella, and Jidion showed up in her replies in anticipation of her comeback stream.

Pokimane has repeatedly stressed the importance of taking time off from streams due to the mental stress that comes with being a top streamer. She has previously discussed multiple instances of harassment from overzealous fans with some going so far as to even track down her home address. Pokimane revealed she had even considered retiring as recently as this year before the end of her last contract with Twitch. Pokimane has been critical in the past of Twitch’s lack of proper protection for its content creators from on-site issues.
One reason Pokimane has cited for contributing to her decision to continue her Twitch streaming was the increasing diversity on the platform. 2022 has already seen several female streamers ascend to the top of Twitch with Amouranth passing streamers like Pokimane and Valkyrae earlier this year across multiple platforms. VTuber Ironmouse also temporarily became the most subscribed creator on Twitch for a brief time following her subathon in February.
Twitch has seen plenty of new talent joining the upper echelons of the streaming platform throughout 2022 with some creators exploding in popularity. Twitch streamer Kai Cenat became Twitch’s second most-subscribed channel last week, sitting only behind the massively popular xQc. Twitch has also taken strides towards making its platform more inviting for its top creators, doing away with its controversial “partner exclusivity” program prohibiting partners from streaming on other platforms. Pokimane’s comeback stream on Thursday will be a welcome return for her legions of passionate fans.
