In typical MOBA games, the areas between lanes are referred to as the jungle. By defeating certain enemies within the jungle, players can gain powerful buffs for both themselves and their team that can turn the tide of battle. This is called jungling, and players can do the same thing in Pokemon Unite. Defeating Rotom provides an advantage to the whole team.

Rotom can be found in the arena type area above the top lane, and spawns after three minutes of game time have passed. Once the timer at the top of the screen says 7:00, players can be sure that Rotom is there. The fight itself is not terribly difficult, but it’s recommended to bring a few teammates along for several reasons. First of all, the other team will likely want to get their hands on Rotom first, so it’s very possible that a team battle will erupt here. What’s more, at low levels Rotom will be too challenging to take on alone.
The player that lands the final hit on Rotom captures it for their team. To reiterate, it doesn’t matter how much damage each team does to the Pokemon, as only the final hit will be counted. After capturing Rotom, it will immediately start to make its way towards the opposing team’s closest goal, fighting enemy Pokemon on its way. Players will want to escort Rotom to the goal, as its effects are triggered once it reaches its destination.
In Pokemon Unite, Rotom scores 20 points when it reaches the enemy’s goal and weakens the goal so that players can score on it instantly. It will also help players fight their way towards the opponent’s goal in Pokemon Unite, but it can be defeated by the opposing team. In the event that the other team gets Rotom before the player has a chance to, the best thing to do is try and take it down before it reaches the goal.
Pokemon Unite is available now on Switch and later on Mobile.
