While players seem to be enjoying Pokemon Unite for the most part, it does have some issues. Scrolling through the replies on the Twitter post below seems to highlight two major issues that fans are divided on: Zapdos and the pay to win held item mechanics. Since there are players on both sides, it will be interesting to see where the majority is on each issue.

Zapdos is a wild Pokemon that awards the team of the player that scores the last hit on it with a ton of points. It also stuns the enemy team and leaves all goal zones defenseless. With this Pokemon, it’s possible for a team to score hundreds of points all at once, but it only spawns in the last two minutes of the match. Some players think Zapdos should be nerfed, allowing to still reward a lot of points but not completely shift the balance of the game, while others think it works perfectly as a comeback mechanic.

The other point of contention involves pay to win items in Pokemon Unite. Players get held items that provide permanent stat boosts to their Pokemon, and these can be leveled up with item enhancers. The problem is that players can purchase item enhancers with real money, meaning players willing to pay enough already have maxed out level 30 items. While the stats gained from these are small, they tip the balance in favor of paying players regardless. Some fans feel like this is absurd and should be addressed immediately while others think it’s not a big deal.

These aren’t the only issues brought up within the survey, however, as players also have a chance to voice their concerns about the pacing of the game, its music, the level design of Pokemon Unite, and much more. It’s a bit lengthy and takes a good 10 to 20 minutes to complete, but it’s well worth filling out if players want their voice to be heard.

Pokemon Unite is available now on Switch and releases in September on Mobile.
