Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have revealed a handful of new Pokemon that will be featured in the new games, but leaks have indicated that a lot more will be featured in the final products. According to leakers, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have over 100 new Pokemon on the way, yet only a fraction of those have been revealed to date. These Pokemon have typically been revealed in trailers with other Pokemon, but sometimes they’ve been given special treatment.

This was the case with Bellibolt, an Electric-type Pokemon that will be making its debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it seems to be the case with some new Pokemon relating to a treasure chest. The official Pokemon Twitter has made a post showing a treasure chest with a time listed of 6:00am PT. Clicking on the link takes fans to a page where they can cycle through the different views of the treasure chest. While it’s likely that the treasure chest is related to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, that has not actually been confirmed at the time of this writing, and so fans should keep that in mind.
The leading theory is that this treasure chest is tied to the leaked coin Pokemon that will supposedly be in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. For the uninitiated, reputable Pokemon leakers have said that a coin-based Pokemon is going to be debuting in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This leak gained considerable credibility when a Pokemon GO data mine revealed a new grey bug-like Pokemon that with a coin on its back.
Since the Pokemon was found in Pokemon GO update files, it’s possible that it is coming to Niantic’s game and won’t even appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Alternatively, it could be part of a special promotion between Pokemon GO and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, similarly to how Meltan was featured in the Pokemon Let’s Go games. Whatever the case may be, Pokemon fans should have more answers tomorrow morning.
