Like every version of of the mainline Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are going to include some version specific content that is meant to entice players to trade and interact with other trainers (or purchase two copies of the game). The new trailer, and some updates to the official website, confirm two Pokemon who will be exclusive to each game, as well as a Gym leader who is exclusive to each version.

Shoppers will want take the following information into consideration as they decide which of the upcoming versions they want to take home in November…

Because of trading, the decision of which game to purchase isn’t that big of a deal and shoppers shouldn’t stress too much about it. As the release date approaches, it will be interesting to see if the drama surrounding the lack of a global Pokedex stays strong or if the quality of the game wins Nintendo fans over.
