Pokemon that will be available during the Max Raid Battle Easter event include the following: in Pokemon Sword, there’s Bonsly, Budew, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Cleffa, Copperajah, Cufant, Ditto, Duraludon, Mantyke, Mime Jr., Munchlax, Pichu, Riolu, Togepi, Toxel, Trubbish, Tyrogue, and Wynaut; in Pokemon Shield, add Garbodor and remove Copperajah. That should be more than enough baby Pokemon to keep players busy all weekend.

What’s really driving excitement for the Pokemon Sword and Shield Easter event are the breeding opportunities. Specifically, the high-roll nature of Ditto. According to reports, all Max Raid Battle Dittos will have at least 5 IVs. There’s also a 1/32 chance of getting a 6 IV Ditto, a so-called perfect Ditto. It’s not going to be easy to find a perfect Ditto, but it’s still an opportunity where there wasn’t one before.

Alongside the baby Pokemon, Game Freak is giving away certain breeding items as rewards for Max Raid Battles, too. Items like Boiled Eggs, Lucky Eggs, Everstones, and Destiny Knots will drop alongside certain baby Pokemon.

The Pokemon Sword and Shield event is live right now and will last through April 15, extending well beyond Easter. That should give Easter celebrators and Pokemon breeders at least a chance to collect the Pokemon they’re looking for.

Considering the bulk of the players still spending time with Pokemon Sword and Shield right now are its most dedicated fans, this Easter event makes perfect sense. It allows Pokemon breeders the opportunity to pick up some Dittos or other Pokemon that’ll be useful. It’ll also allow them to round out their PokeDexes ahead of Pokemon’s upcoming big expansion release. Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Isle of Armor expansion arrives in June, so there’s more great new Pokemon content coming soon.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
