Regular players looking to add every Pokemon they possibly can to their collection will soon have another brand new Pokemon to obtain and it’s one that is running a tad late - the Mythical Rogue Monkey called Zarude.

Zarude was first revealed back in February and is also one of the stars of the newest Pokemon movie, Pokemon Coco, which sees Ash and Pikachu encounter a young Tarzan-like child who also has some connection to Zarude.
Zarude was to be distributed alongside the movie when it released in Japan this month, but the movie was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. While the movie is still unfortunately still a ways off, Zarude will actually be made available sooner.
On August 7th, anyone who pre-purchases a ticket for the movie will be given a code to download Zarude for Pokemon Sword & Shield. That won’t be the only treat either as they will also receive a code for another Mythical Grass Pokemon, Celebi, who is also set to appear in the movie and will be available in its incredibly rare Shiny form.
As it stands, though, this only applies to Japanese players, as the movie currently has no date for a Western release and fans will likely respond negatively if they’re forced to wait even longer for a Pokemon available in Japan.
It’s likely that a separate means of distribution will be made available in other regions but, so far, neither Game Freak nor Nintendo have commented on it.
In the meantime, players have only a couple more days to claim a free Zeraora, another Mythical Pokemon that is being given away as a reward for 1 million players completing a Zeraora Raid Battle. Players can claim this Zeraora via Pokemon Home and, what’s more, it’s Shiny too.
Players also have the second DLC Expansion, the Crown Tundra, to look forward to, which will come with more extra Pokemon, including multiple Legendary and Mythical Pokemon.
Pokemon Sword & Shield are available on Nintendo Switch.
