Much to the delight of Pokemon fans, however, one gamer known as Scorpob (with the texture expertise of Krakelak) has taken the liberty of modding a few of the franchise’s newer characters into the crossover-centric madness known as Smash Bros.. Previously helping to bring Sun and Moon’s Lillie and Cosmog to Smash, Scorpob doesn’t seem to be slowing down. This fan’s latest addition? None other than the Aether Foundation’s mysterious secretary, Wicke.

The mod was first spotted by Kotaku after being shared on Scorpob’s Twitter account, but it’s safe to say that the addition Wicke is sure to place a smile on the face of anyone that has been enjoying the latest installments of the Pocket Monster franchise thus far. The skin in question can be found on GameBanana, much like the previous ones worked on by this fan, but players will quickly realize that they’re taking on the moveset of Peach with this alleged villain.

Wicke may not have an original set of moves, but it’s always cool to see new characters added to the roster – albeit through an unofficial means. Having said that, it’s possible that fans can look forward to more characters debuting in Super Smash Bros. in the very near future, thanks to the imminent arrival of the Nintendo Switch in March. Rumors currently peg Smash Bros to receive a port on the new hardware, and if that pans out then there’s a chance that new fighters could follow.
Of course, since the Pokemon themselves have taken center stage within the fighting game thus far – with the addition of Mewtwo being the last franchise mainstay to be added as DLC to Smash – it’s likely that Wicke will not make the cut. Still, crazier thing have happened.
Super Smash Bros. is currently available on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
