The first three Pokemon to be revealed for these games were of course the starters, Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly. Sprigatito is the Grass-type starter Pokemon that players can choose to partner up with at the start of their Pladean journey. It starts as a cute cat and ends up evolving into a bipedal magician. Upon reaching its final form, Meowscarada, it sees an incredible increase in its attack and speed stats and gains access to a diverse set of moves. Here are the best moves to consider having for the Sprigatito evolution line.
7 Power Gem
Power Gem is not the best move to have for this cat Pokemon but it is the only viable move that the Sprigagtito line can learn to cover its Fire-type weakness. Power Gem is a Rock-type special move with a base power of 80 and an accuracy of 100, that can be taught to these Pokemon using a TM.
This move might not be great for the later half of the game or online play, but it is still a solid option to counter Fire-type Pokemon in the early hours of the wild. But since players can have other Pokemon on their teams counter Fire-types, Power Gem might not be the best option to waste a move slot on.
6 Thunder Punch
The Sprigatito line being a Grass-type is naturally weak to Flying-type Pokemon. Fortunately, players can teach their Meowscarada the move Thunder Punch via a TM to cover its Flying-type weakness. Since Mewoscarada is a heavy physical attacker Thunder Punch is an excellent move to consider for weakness and type coverage.
Thunder punch is a physical attack move with a base power of 75 and an accuracy of 100. This move also has a 10% chance of leaving its victims paralyzed. It also has a decent amount of PP, that being 15, so players can go exploring in the wild without worrying too much.
5 Foul Play
Considering Meowscarada gains an additional Dark-typing, it only makes sense to have at least one Dark-type move in its move pool. One such option is the physical Dark-type move Foul Play. This move has a base power of 95 and an accuracy of 100 making it a solid option overall.

The trick behind using this move is that the user uses the attack stat of its appointment to land a hit. It is as if the opponent is damaging themselves in the battle. Foul Play is a tricky but useful move that can be taught to Meowscarada using a TM.
4 Play Rough
Play Rough is a physical Fairy-type move that can be taught to the Sprigatito line using a TM. It has both its base power and its accuracy marked as 90. This is a solid physical move to use against Dragon-type Pokemon in the game.
It even has a 10% chance of lowering its victim’s attack stat by one stage, every time it is used. If a player wants to have a versatile moveset for their Meowscarada this is an excellent move to consider as it powerful move overall.
3 U-Turn
To casual players, U-Turn may seem like an odd and easily skippable move, but for hardcore competitive players, this move can be very useful. U-Turn is a Bug-type physical move with a base power of 70 and an accuracy of 100. What makes this move unique is the fact that its user can switch out after landing a hit.

Meowscarada has a very high-speed stat of 123, making it faster than most Pokemon. This means that in battle Meowscarada can land a hit and switch out easily if the Pokemon it is up against has a type advantage.
2 Grassy Terrain
Grassy Terrain is a status move that Meowscarada learns upon reaching level 58. When used, Grassy Terrain sticks around for about 5 turns, increasing the power of Grass-type moves for all Pokemon in the field by 50%. It also restores the HP of grounded Pokemon by 1/16th of their total HP.
Additionally, this move reduces the power of moves like Earthquake, Bulldoze, and Magnitude by half, while in effect. This move can open up a lot of strategies for competitive players.
1 Flower Trick
Flower Trick is the signature move of Meowscarada that it learns upon evolving from Floragato. It is an excellent Grass-type physical move with a base power of 70, that never misses its target. Additionally, this move will always land as a critical hit doing intense damage to its foes, unless the opponent is wearing a Battle Armor or a Shell Armor.
This move was introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, specifically for Meowscarada, and has a pretty neat battle animation as well. Pair this move with Meowscarada’s Grass Tera-type and players will end up with a very powerful Pokemon on their team.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are out now for the Nintendo Switch.
