Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been all over social media since the games were released a couple of weeks ago, with Pokemon fans sharing posts highlighting things from hilarious moments to ridiculous bugs. The new Generation 9 titles have been criticized heavily by players due to their poor technical quality at launch, being plagued by countless weird glitches and low graphical quality, according to many fans. On top of that, frequent crashes and strikingly obvious performance issues have been some of the main culprits for negatively impacting the gameplay experience for many players. Despite the many unfortunate shortcomings, a lot of players have been having a surprisingly great time with the games, praising the many innovative new gameplay features and the well-developed characters.

This hilarious moment in the new Scarlet and Violet games was posted on Reddit by the user Sunyie and includes a clip sharing the moment that a wild Pokemon falls on top of the player. While running around and minding their own business, a wild Girafarig falls off of a neighboring cliff and lands on the player, forcing them into a battle. Other fans in the comments were quick to link clips that featured other players having similar experiences, as the unpredictable AI of the free-roaming wild Pokemon can often make for some laughable moments. Funnily enough, this wasn’t even the first time that an AI character has been seen dropping off ledges in that area, as another fan recently shared a hilarious clip of Nemona walking off a cliff in the same place.
Whether the result of a bug or just simply a Pokemon doing something funny at an unexpected time, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have come across plenty of funny moments throughout the Paldea region in recent weeks, sharing videos on social media of vanishing NPCs and T-Posing classmates.
While many of the games’ bugs appear to create more fun moments than gameplay complications, that doesn’t change the fact that many players are calling Scarlet and Violet the most poorly-polished Pokemon games in history as a result of their flaws. Though Nintendo recently announced an upcoming patch for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet amid community outcries, it isn’t yet clear exactly how much impact the patch will have on the games’ quality.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for Nintendo Switch.
