However, a recent leak has seemingly been reinforced by Khu. There have been rumors of a new Ghost Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that is based on a coin. This has led to a lot of speculation that it is a Ghost/Steel type, and it could be that it somehow relates to piracy. Rumors and speculation aside though, all fans know is a coin Ghost Pokemon possibly exists in the new games, but Khu has added an important detail for any interested fans.

For those planning on using the Coin Pokemon in the upcoming games, Khu says that it’s hard to get like Spiritomb in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Spiritomb has always been difficult to get, as players in Diamond and Pearl had to use the Odd Keystone in the right place and talk to 32 unique characters in the Underground. Come Pokemon Legends: Arceus though, this was even harder as players had to begin a quest and collect 107 wisps that were scattered throughout the Hisui region. In other words, it sounds like fans will likely need to explore the Paldea region in its entirety, or near it, to obtain this new Ghost Pokemon.
While that unique quality will likely make the Pokemon more coveted, that doesn’t mean it’s harder to get for those planning to use it on their team. It should be noted that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are open-world games and nonlinear in design, but that doesn’t make getting these easier if certain areas have stronger Pokemon.
It does remain to be seen how this actually works in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it doesn’t sound impossible to obtain for a team, just hard to get. Of course, these are important factors in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players who want to plan their team out, and the fact that so little information regarding new Pokemon, new forms, and the like is out currently makes this basically impossible. Game Freak and The Pokemon Company will hopefully confirm more relatively soon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
