The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet legendaries are Koraidon and Miraidon, with Koraidon featured on Pokemon Scarlet’s box and Miraidon gracing the cover of Pokemon Violet. It was pointed out by Reddit user LilGhostSoru that the “Korai” and “Mirai” can roughly equate to “past” and “future,” respectively. Based on this information, they predict that the third Pokemon Scarlet and Violet legendary will be called Genzaidon, with “genzai” meaning “present.”

This would go with the “time” theme of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games. Koraidon and Miraidon embrace “past” and “future” themes beyond just their names, as Koraidon looks like a prehistoric dinosaur, whereas Miraidon has sci-fi elements to its design. These themes are further highlighted by the professors in each game. In Pokemon Violet, Professor Sada has tribal gear on, whereas Professor Turo in Pokemon Scarlet has futuristic clothing. It would make sense for the inevitable third legendary to keep with the “time” theme that the games are going with, though it’s difficult to see how it would be able to embody the “present” in the same way that Koraidon and Miraidon embody the past and future.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans will have to wait for more information to see if there’s anything to this theory, though it’s unclear when more info may come. There are rumors that a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer could be dropping in the relatively near future, but nothing official has been announced by Nintendo. And even if there is a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, there’s no guarantee that it will reveal the game’s third legendary Pokemon.
Whenever a new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet does drop, it will be interesting to see if it addresses any of the leaks that are out there about the games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks have been spreading like wildfire online, detailing everything from starter evolutions to the games’ gameplay gimmick. Pokemon leaks have turned out to be very accurate in the past, so it will be interesting to see if the same holds true for the Scarlet and Violet leaks.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch on November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
