Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were first revealed in February. When the games were announced, the three starting Pokemon that players will begin the game with were also shown: Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito. While we still have no idea where the evolutionary lines of these three Pokemon will go, one fan has given their take on what Sprigatito will be like when it first evolves.

A Redditor named GrekisaWrek posted an image of their idea for Sprigatito’s evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Pokemon is named Fleurlince and is a Grass/Fairy-type. Fleurlince keeps some aspects of Sprigatito while adding new features that go along with the Fairy typing.

Fleurlince is still on all fours and keeps a lot of the heavy cat-like features that Sprigatito had. However, Fleurlince now sports whiskers made up of flower stamens, and wings that give it a fairy-like appearance. The leaf that covered Sprigatito’s face like a small mask has been expanded on, now featuring a yellow cross-like design. The Pokemon’s ears and leaf collar have all been expanded upon, and its legs have been extended, going from the look of a kitten to a mature cat.

GrekisaWrek’s take on Sprigatito’s evolution has garnered a lot of praise. Many state that the art fits and that they could believe that Fleurlince is Sprigatito’s actual evolution. Some say that the art is not too over the top, which lends to it being more believable than what other fans have come up with. The only complaint is the Pokemon’s typing. Rather than taking up the secondary Fairy typing, one commenter stated that they hope Sprigatito eventually takes up the Psychic typing. This would be interesting and would go against many theories that Sprigatito will end up a Fairy-type.

Though GrekisaWrek is imagining that Sprigatito will take up the Fairy-type when it evolves, a gamer by the handle bunnybiene feels that Sprigatito will instead become a Dark-type. They stated that they feel the starter will be based off of bandits, which are popular in Spain, the area that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are based off of. According to bunnybiene, they feel that Sprigatito’s evolutionary line will keep their feline form, as it fits with the bandit theme. We will have to wait for Nintendo to release more information on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to see if either GrekisaWrek or bunnybiene is correct, or if Sprigatito’s evolutionary line goes down a completely different road.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release in 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
