Redditor xhandora graciously posted a video of their character getting stuck in a small alcove in the Academy in Mesagoza, right by the NPC with the Misdreavus Pokemon. Once they get caught in that area, they aren’t able to work their way out again. In the comments, xhandora also states that the game autosaved in that moment and so they could not even exit the game and restart, as it would just spawn them in the same stuck state. Unlike some Pokemon Scarlet and Violet glitches that make more Pokemon appear or other such wonders, this particular bug is game breaking and should be avoided at all costs until the developers can patch it out.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are massive games with many characters, interesting settings, and quests to undertake. As such, the game usually has a lot going on at once, which means that some glitches here and there are to be expected. Sometimes, without actually glitching, players can even have fun random encounters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet like finding a Ditto that transforms into itself.

The ninth generation of mainline Pokemon games are so popular that fans all over the world are putting in massive amounts of hours into the games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have inspired addictions, caused people to spend days on end on shiny hunts, and given rise to some amazing fan-made art creations.

Players like xhandora who continually post videos and pictures that are helpful to others are the reason that the Pokemon community is such a welcoming and joyful place. As more and more people draw attention to issues like this, the developers are sure to put out a patch soon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
