First off, Nintendo revealed a new ghost-type Pokemon called Polteageist. Literally a haunted teapot, Polteageist was described in the Nintendo Direct as a “ghost made of tea” that “may let a trusting trainer taste its tea.” The Pokemon franchise can always use more ghost-type Pokemon, so it’s nice to see Polteageist confirmed for Pokemon Sword and Shield, as weird as it is. In Pokemon Unite, a Pokemon’s capabilities are determined by their role, and balanced team composition is key for victory. Pokemon like Charizard and Lucario fall into the All-Rounder category, while Snorlax and Slowbro would fall into the Defender category, giving players an idea of how they will be played. Pokemon has one of the largest rosters of all time, so for TiMi Studio Group to choose the initial roster with only around 20 seems like a daunting task....

While players seem to be enjoying Pokemon Unite for the most part, it does have some issues. Scrolling through the replies on the Twitter post below seems to highlight two major issues that fans are divided on: Zapdos and the pay to win held item mechanics. In a previous update, Pokemon Unite covered its plans for the Winter Holiday event. Players will not have much longer to take part in the event, as the Shivre City Challenge Missions, Holiday Log-in Gifts, Aurora Ranked Matches, and Aurora Challenges will end on Christmas Day. However, the ongoing Illumination Challenge will continue until January 9, so players can keep earning challenge-exclusive rewards until the challenge concludes. One of the developers, a 22 year-old woman named Involuntary Twitch who has been working on this game since she was 13, has offered fans an idea of what to expect from the free updates for Pokemon Uranium. The patches will address some of the game’s lingering bugs and technical issues, but they will also add substantial content to lengthen the game. As it stands, it is not possible for players to capture all the nuclear Pokemon listed in Pokemon Uranium’s Pokedex....

U-Treasure has announced Pokemon-themed engagement rings that feature Eevee, the counterpart starter to Pikachu in the Pokemon Let’s Go games for the Nintendo Switch. The rifle was fired by a police officer. Authorities claimed the officer was responding to shots fired by a local gang, but residents said there was no confrontation. Instead, they claimed, the officer was trying to pick off two men on a motorcycle driving past the minivan. Her death sparked major protests, but Agatha is just one of more than 1,250 people shot dead by police in Rio this year....

Two officers, one a nine-year veteran of the police force and other with less than a year of experience, responded to a report of an armed man on a bus near San Pedro and West Olmos, according to KABB. One of the officers then shot the unidentified man, said to be in his 20s, who reportedly died at the scene. About five other passengers and the driver were on the bus at the time of the shooting....

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded at around 12:30 a.m. on December 25 to a single vehicle traffic collision that occurred near the intersection of Glendora Drive and Barton Road in Grand Terrace. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot after being involved in the collision. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the Honda’s rear window was shattered from a bullet which entered the passenger’s compartment through the rear window, struck the inside of the windshield before landing on the dash....

However, fans in China have something else they are clearly enjoying in the meantime: the Genshin Impact x Pizza Hut collaboration. It’s going on now and will last for two weeks. It features characters Eula and Amber in the Pizza Hut promotions, wearing aprons and other Pizza Hut-related gear, and there are some in-game rewards too. It has already proven so popular that police had to shut down at least one store due to crowd safety....

Sterling scored twice in a 4-1 triumph over Spurs, City’s 16th league win in a row which maintains their healthy 11-point lead atop the table. Eyewitness video from the game, posted by Twitter user Sara Carpenter, shows the man being ejected via police escort, while other spectators in the gym chant the chorus to the Steam song “Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye).” School officials asked that the officer seen in the video, Sergeant Chris Carson, remove the offender from the school, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. But according to Sherman Police Department spokesman Sergeant Brett Mullen, because the man wasn’t arrested and wasn’t given a criminal trespassing warning, he hasn’t been permanently banned from further Sherman games....

According to a press release issued by the Junction City Police Department, staff members at the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store reported that they found what appeared to be a functional hand grenade last Saturday Grenades, per Encyclopedia Britannica, are small explosive, chemical or gas bombs that are primarily used at short range. Junction City police said the grenade was found inside a box with other items that were donated to the thrift store by an unidentified person....

Unfortunately, the Water/Ground-type Wooper can’t be found anywhere in the Paldean wild. However, there’s exactly one Johtonian Wooper in Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet, and getting it involves trading. The trade itself isn’t via the Pokemon Portal or Union Circle. Instead, players will want to take a Paldean Wooper to a certain city in western Paldea. Although many of the bugs typically found by players in the new Generation 9 games are more ridiculous than they are game-breaking, occasional issues cause players to sometimes find themselves clipping out of bounds or falling into inescapable areas, which can effectively softlock the game. These sort of issues thankfully appear to be quite rare though, with fans instead encountering bugs that, for example, cause Psyducks to spontaneously appear during a cutscene....

A large part of this is due to the new open world. Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet take place in an open region with few barriers obstructing the player’s movement. According to the official website, players can even choose to ignore the story and explore the world at their own pace. The ramifications of this have yet to be clarified, but it sounds like a true open world, as opposed to the multiple distinct maps that Pokemon Legends: Arceus offered....

For those who may be unaware, Tinkaton is a new dual-type Fairy/Steel Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as part of Generation 9. Despite its relatively harmless appearance with a predominately pink color palette and cutesy design, Tinkaton may actually be the biggest bully of the franchise. According to its Pokedex entry, not only is Tinkaton’s hammer built from Pawniard and Bisharp pieces, but it is used as a bat to pelt rocks at unsuspecting Corviknight flocks, purely for sport....
