This incident reminds us of both the best and worst of Poland’s history toward its Jewish population. There have been times in Poland’s history when it was a welcome home to Jews. In the 13th and 14th centuries, Jews began to move from Western Europe to Eastern Europe, largely due to antisemitism. In 1290, the Jews of England were officially expelled and within years, Jews were also expelled from France and many German protectorates....

The altercation occurred at the EndZone Bar and Grill at 1209 W. University Ave. According to police, Brown approached a man and a woman in the middle of an argument inside the bar and invited the male outside to fight. Terron Boone was killed in Rosamond, California, on Wednesday, Jamon Hicks, an attorney representing the Fuller family confirmed to Newsweek. In a statement, Hicks said: “I had to notify the sisters of Robert Fuller that their brother Terron Jammal Boone was killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies in Kern County.” In a news release, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the shooting took place in the 3400 block of 15th Street at around 4....

The fire started Thursday night at the five-story Hashem Foods Ltd. factory in Rupjangi, Bangladesh. Police discovered the additional bodies after an investigation on Friday afternoon. The main exit of the factory was locked from the inside and many of those who died were trapped, Debasish Bardhan, the deputy director of the local Fire Service and Civil Defense said. The top two floors of the factory have yet to be searched, according to Bardhan....

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were announced during the latest Pokemon Presents. Not much information has been released for the game, though we do know what the starter Pokemon will be. The three starters will be Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Sprigatito will be a grass-type, Fuecoco a fire-type, and Quaxly a water-type. Nintendo has only released the original artwork for the three-pocket monsters, which has spurred fans to come up with their own artwork for the trio....

Scarlet and Violet could avoid this problem by allowing players to go beyond uniforms either in the post-game or in later DLCs. It would also be appreciated if customization options weren’t limited to any gender. Even if this isn’t the case, some new customization features added are commendable, and they should let players feel more attached than ever to their character as they’re out collecting Pokemon. Reddit user Sagedro09 recently shared a video of their adventures in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s region of Paldea in which their Dunsparce has evolved into a special Dudunsparce, with the player showing the Pokemon from all angles. Dudunsparce wasn’t the only new evolution to an existing Pokemon with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as Crabrawler, Girafarig, and Primeape all got the same treatment with the Gen 9 Pokedex. Like other recent generations of Pokemon titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also introduced new regional variants to existing Pokemon like Tauros and Wooper to further expand the number of Pokemon that players have to capture along the way....

Team Star is the Paldea region’s prerequisite “villain” organization, but seems to fit the misguided punk mold of Team Skull and (to a certain extent) Team Yell more than the crime syndicates of Team Rocket, Galactic, or Plasma. As the Pokemon world is based on real locales, natural landmarks and city features within each region often corresponds to something players could visit. For example, Alola has black beaches akin to places like the Punalu’u Black Sand Beach in Hawai’i, Galar’s Wyndon has many of the same attractions as real-world London, and Paldea’s Tagtree Thicket is painted like Spain’s Oma forest; artwork done by Agustin Ibarrola in the 1980s....

As revealed at the end of the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, the games will be available on Friday, November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The latest version of the New Nintendo 3DS XL features the two legendary Pokemon from the upcoming Pokemon Sun & Moon on the cover, Solgaleo and Lunala, outlined in white on a black background. The Pokemon Sun & Moon New 3DS XL’s design is stylized, making it a more subtle choice for fans than the Pokemon Red & Blue New Nintendo 3DS. However, gamers should be aware that the handheld won’t include a copy of Pokemon Sun or Pokemon Moon, following in the footsteps of other game-themed 3DS releases like The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes New Nintendo 3DS XL....

In the episode, there is a scene where Ash throws shuriken at a target. In the original Japanese version of the episode, the shuriken look as one would expect - like sharp metal. The English dub of the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime changes the shuriken so that they’re pink and have a ring around them. Not only that, but the audio in the scene was changed so it didn’t like sound the shuriken were sharp and actually piercing the target....

For players to get their Pokemon to follow them in Sword and Shield, they’ll first need to complete three separate tasks in the Isle of Armor, which happen early on after meeting Master Mustard and joining the Master Dojo. Pokemon Sword and Shield’s developer Game Freak recently revealed a new trailer that took fans on a tour of an unnamed town. This town has a Pokemon Research Lab, a Pokemon Center, a boutique, a produce store, and the aforementioned train station. Game Freak’s Shigeru Ohmori walks players through the town and showcases Professor Magnolia at one point. The Pokemon Research Lab and Professor Magnolia seem to imply that this is the town where players will begin, with perhaps Magnolia giving the trainer their first Gen 8 starter Pokemon....

Pokemon Yellow, the first third-edition game released after the original Red, Blue, and Green, allowed players to travel Kanto alongside a partner Pikachu. That concept would not be revisited until Generation 4, where Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum allowed some monsters to walk with trainers in Hearthome City’s Amity Square before Heartgold and Soulsilver fleshed the idea out to allow all Pokemon outside of their ball at any time.
