Releasing just under a year after the highly praised Pokemon Legends: Arceus shook up the world of Pokemon with its time-traveling storyline, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet marks the latest evolution of the long-running franchise. Trading out Arceus’ hub system in favor of the series’ first truly open world, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been massive sales successes for Nintendo and Game Freak despite numerous technical issues that have marred some players’ experience with the titles....

Of course, navigating legitimate and fake leaks is hard no matter what the franchise is. Two of the most proven and reliable leakers include Kaka and Riddler Khu, both of whom have seen various Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks proven true in the games’ official marketing. So, with Khu describing what fans should expect from the Dark Dog, the Mice Family, and the new Worm Evolution lines, it’s much more reliable than some of the information out there....

An example comes from Riddler Khu’s leaks concerning Paradox Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which are seemingly creatures from other generations that will get an ancient or future form when they time travel to the Paldea region. Another interesting concept that Riddler Khu talked about is that of the so-called regional fakes. According to the leaker, regional fakes are completely new Pokemon that each have their own Pokedex entry, but they have some features from existing pocket monsters, such as their face....

The YouTube channel called Modified started creating content only about a month ago, but it has made interesting gaming modifications like an aluminum Nintendo Switch dock as well as a more user-friendly one, and a similarly metallic Xbox Series X. Modified has crafted a $10,000 custom Xbox Series X in the short time that the YouTube channel has been creating content, and it may have made the most valuable copy of Pokemon Silver thus far....

Unfortunately, it has now been revealed that Pokemon Sun and Moon players have failed this global mission too. According to Serebii, players were only able to catch or defeat 661,839 Pokemon in total, which is quite a bit short of that 1 million goal. It’s not as spectacular as the previous global mission failure (just over 16 million Pokemon were caught, out of the required 100 million), but it’s still significant....

Generation 4 introduced the Leaf type Leafeon and Ice Type Glaceon by evolving Eevee next to a special rock. The latest Eevee evolution comes from Generation 6, where they introduced a new type called Fairy (they are also due for a Pokemon Go release soon). Sylveon was introduced as a Fairy Type Pokemon which evolved from Eevee if the player showed it enough affection. Generation 7 did not see any new evolutions, so based on this trend we can hope that Gamefreak introduces a new type of Eevee Evolution....

For those that aren’t familiar with the previous games, Magneton is capable of evolving into Magnezone when leveled up in a magnetic field. Unfortunately, there are none of those in Pokemon Sword and Shield, which has left many players puzzled. Pokemon Sword and Shield’s new DLC is available to play on June 17. Fans are excited to experience the new additions to the game, and since trainers in the new area will have their Pokemon level-scaled to highest leveled Pokemon in the player’s party, players at all points in the main game will be able to explore the new areas. In this new area, players can obtain Kubfu, a fighting-type that can evolve into Urshifu, which can be either a fighting and dark-type or a fighting and water-type depending on the circumstances of the Pokemon’s evolution....

While Rillaboom and Cinderace’s have some interesting designs, Inteleon’s, once again, seems to be the one that’s grabbed the internet’s attention. There are three pieces of Pokemon Sword and Shield art that each depict one of the three new Pokemon. These Pokemon are bird-like in appearance and bare very strong and striking resemblances to the three legendary bird Pokemon of the Kanto region: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Of course, the design of the birds in the artwork does look different from the birds of Kanto, and because the Direct didn’t officially confirm this art depicts Kanto’s legendary bird trio, claiming it does is speculation (albeit with some solid evidence)....

This year, Game Freak, the studio that created the franchise, turned 30. That’s a pretty huge milestone for any studio, but especially for one that has helped shaped modern gaming culture in no small way. To celebrate the occasion, the studio will be hosting a special 30th anniversary livestream tomorrow at 7:00 AM PST. According to the teaser announcement on its website, the stream will star studio director, composer, programmer, and founding member Junichi Masuda, who will look back on Game Freak’s decades of history and discuss how it got to where it is today....

Since the game’s launch in July 2021, Pokemon Unite has seen consistent additions to the roster each month with developer TiMi Studios frequently introducing new Pokemon and new ways to experience the MOBA. 2022 has already seen Unite add two popular Generation 6 Pokemon to the roster with Trevenant joining the game in January and Aegislash releasing earlier this month. DLCs for console games are well known. The idea that DLCs can generate more profits does not however affect the company and its affiliates. As has been said by the art director and director of the game, Pokemon DLC is not going to happen anytime in the near future.
